Favourite Lipsticks

Hi everyone!!

Today's post is about my favourite lipsticks of all time. I adore them, which is why I wanted to share them with you. I'll leave swatches at the end.

The first two are both from two Bourjois discontinued lines. I'm sure there are dupes from other brands that you can get. The first one is Bourjois Lovely Brille in 01 Paradis Transparent. It is a very sheer, shimmery and creamy lipstick. It has a sheen and, after a few hours, it leaves simply the shimmer on the lips without drying them.
The second one is Bourjois Sweet Kiss Naturel in 06 Rose Tendre. This is a very true peach colour. It looks pinker than it actually is. It has an orange undertone but it is also very natural looking. It is creamy and feels very moisturising.

The next lipstick doesn't come in a lipstick form. Although it appears to be a lip gloss, it is a matte lip cream. The name? Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in Birthday Suit. It is the kind of product that is very opaque with one single application and dries matte, which makes it last for hours. It does not dry your lips out, especially if you apply a bit of lip balm underneath. It has a very light texture which makes it extremely comfortable and also gives a very nice finish. It retails for £4.99 at Boots.
The following one is from Oriflame. I have mentioned it before. I still love it! It has that Kylie Jenner lip colour just slightly more muted. It is called Oriflame Pure Colour in Vintage Rose. It is very creamy, smooth and moisturising. It lasts for a good number of hours (around 3 or 4) and it also has a very natural look to it. It retails for £6.00 at the Oriflame website.

The last three are completely different shades from one another. The first one is Bourjois' Rouge Edition in 04 Rose Tweed. It is one my all time favourite shades because it goes with everything, doesn't dry the lips out and feels very comfortable. It has a very natural look and a velvet kind of finish. It is similar too Bourjois Sweet Kiss Naturel but has a pinker undertone. It retails for £7.99 at Boots
The next one is Rimmel London Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in 01. This is a true and classic red. It has blue undertones, which helps your teeth look whiter and because of its lasting power, it does not budge which makes it easy to maintain. The lipstick is apparently infused with Black Diamonds which help it to reflect light, making your lips look fuller. It retails for £5.49 at Boots.
The last one is Maybelline Color Drama in 310 Berry Much. I have mentioned it in my May favourites and it is quickly becoming a June favourite. It has a very creamy consistency and feels very moisturising. It has very good and strong pigmentation and it can easily become matte if blotted. It is very low maintenance and it does not move around. It comes in a pencil form for easier application. It retails for £4.99 at Boots.

Here are the swatches for each of the lipsticks.

Hope you enjoyed! Let me know in the comments which are your favourite lipsticks of all time.

Tip of the week: How to make 2nd & 3rd day hair seem freshly washed

We all love the feel and look of a freshly washed set of hair but we don't have the time to wash it everyday, especially those girls with a long mane! Today's posts is all about those second and third (for those lucky enough to have such amazing hair that lasts so long) heads of hair that you need to transform into first day hair before heading out.

First step is to apply some dry shampoo. I usually use Batiste Dry Shampoo Original Clean and Classic (£2.99 at Boots). I find that it works really well and leaves no residue on my hair. And it also gives amazing volume! They released a bunch of new scents and a colours to suit different hairs. I recommend you try and find the one you like the most.

I have also searched for another alternative and have found that the Dove Refresh + Care Dry Shampoo (£4.59 at Boots) had amazing reviews. I have not used it myself but many people seem to find that it holds the volume all day long and has a pleasing scent.

Once your hair is all voluminous and not oily at the roots, it's time to pay attention to your ends. Basically, this involves any type of nourishing oil that is appropriate for your hair. I recommend either MoroccanOil (£30.11 at Amazon.co.uk) or OGX Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil (£6.99 at Boots) since they are both suitable for any hair type. Don't forget that with this type of product a little goes a long way. Only a few drops will make your hair smooth, shiny and frizz free.

After this you can do whatever you want with your hair. Just leave it down and proud or put it up in a bun or one of the many possible braids.

Hope you find this helpful!

May Favourites

Hi everyone!!

Today, I'm back with another monthly favourites post. The month of May was very focused on the digital side of life as you will see. Although there were a few beauty favourites as well.

My first beauty favourite is the Maybelline Color Drama in Berry Much. Even though I bought it halfway through the month, it has been a staple on the few days that I do wear makeup. The product has a very creamy consistency and feels very moisturising. It comes in a pencil form and it is very easy to keep up with during the day. I bought mine at Boots where it is currently priced at £4.99.

The next beauty favourite is something I have had for years, which is amazing considering it is a sample size. The product I'm talking about is the Make Up For Ever Star Powder in 926 Iridescent Beige. It is a beautiful pigment and the picture does not do it enough justice! It is a sort of rose gold colour with gold fine glitter and it appears gold once it is on. It is my ultimate favourite eye makeup and bonus is it lasts a REALLY long time! I could not find the price but if you live in continental Europe you can find it at Sephora or any Make Up For Ever counter. Unfortunately for those that live in the UK, I could not find it, not even in the new Make Up For Ever counter at Debenhams. :(

The last beauty favourite has been the Oriflame Eyebrow Kit. It is a very good product especially for travelling as it includes two mini brushes and wax besides the two different shadows. I really like using the lighter colour on my brows but recently I have also been using it as eye shadows since the colours make a very good neutral eye makeup. The brushes are very good and the products have a very good staying power. The Eyebrow Kit can be found at the Oriflame website and it retails for £8.00.

Now, the reason why the month of May has been so digital is because I "rediscovered" some apps that I already owned and could not part from them. The first one I wanted to talk about is Planner Plus. This has been a life saver!! It is basically a planner in your phone and it lets you create any sort of event or routine and it also notifies you. It also allows you to colour code what you write in as well as choose when to be notified, if you wish to be notified. There is a free version called Planner Plus Lite which, I believe, has adverts and not many features. I invested in the paid version as I believe it is very worth it. It retails for £3.49 on the Google Play Store.

The next app has been the H&M app. This is self-explanatory as this is my favourite shop and the app is free. Although I recommend not having it in your phone if you want your bank account to stay nice and healthy.

The next app is the Sims Free Play app. This is a game where you create your own town and population. It is very similar to the original Sims but it is suitable for tablets and iPads. It does contain in-app purchases but it is easy to avoid them.

The next app is Subway Surfers. This game is based on train stations all over the world where your character is running from the inspector whilst avoiding being run over by trains. It is a free app and they update it monthly with bug fixes and new theme cities and limited characters. Right now it happens in Venice, Italy.

The final app has been Zumba Dance. I got this app a few years ago but I got a lot more into it lately. The app teaches you Zumba lessons whilst helping you to burn calories and learn new moves. It registers your moves and gives you points. The more points you get, the better! It has many fun and energetic songs. It costs a on-off £3.99 and you can buy new song packs in their store.

On to music. My favourite song of the month has been Frank Sinatra's Fly Me To The Moon (£0.99). It is such a magical song and it gives an instant good vibe to brighten up anyone's day! I have also fallen back in love with Michael BublĂ©'s To Be Loved album (£8.99). I just can't get enough of his songs!

Finally, my favourite shows have been Family Guy and American Dad mainly because I find it hilarious. But, since I do have Netflix (be careful with Netflix as it is very persuasive), I have binge-watched the whole 4 seasons of Once Upon a Time! It is incredible!!! It gives such a spin to your run-of-the-mill fairy tale characters that you think they can't possibly confuse you any more. I recommend it to everyone!! Go watch it now!

I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know your monthly favourites below in comments.

Destination of the month: Isle of Jersey, UK

Hello everyone!

Today is another post on the Destination of the Month segment all about the Isle of Jersey. The Isle is part of the UK and is located on the English Channel close to France. It's a very popular place especially in the summer as it has beautiful beaches and lovely hospitality.

Jersey is full of beautiful landscapes filled with Norman style farmhouses, narrow lanes, small fields and french street names. Jersey was an english island until it was lost in a war to France, hence the french street names. The english did win back years later. There are numerous of defence forts and castles strategically built all around the island.

The island was also invaded during the second world war and was used as a base and as a hospital for german soldiers. The island was occupied because the British Government decided not to defend it. The population was left starving and oppressed. The liberation of this island and the other channel islands happened five years after the beginning of the war on the 9th May 1945 and it is celebrated annually. During the occupation, the german soldiers used all castles as their bases and built numerous bunkers all around the island.

The island is very slow-paced which helps with relaxing vibe it gives. Everyone is very welcoming and genuinely nice. The isle also gives a 1920's - 1930's vibe with some of the houses outer designs. The island is also known for its amazing selection of seafood and seafront restaurants. I recommend it greatly because it allows you to disconnect your mind and just breathe. I leave you with some more pictures. Check my facebook page for a whole album of pictures from this amazing island.
